text within a picture frame?

I'd like to put text wtihin a picture frame, on the "matting" of the frame, below the image, on the bottom mat. How can I do this? I'd like to do this for all my pictures on all my galleries.

I don't know if that is possible with css. I leave that for the style sheet gurus to answer.
The only other solution I can imagine is to add the matting and text to the photo (with photoshop or similar software) and replace your current photos. That would be a hell of a job though...

I've done it only on the thumbnails. Don't know how to do it on the actual pictures. But then the "frame" of the thumbnails are more simple than a regular picture frame.
