Different look on IE and FF

Post Wed Oct 04, 2006 11:21 am

Hi everyone !
My name is Marius and thanks to you guys I managed to customaize my root gallery and now it looks like this:

http://upload.pbase.com/docky.

But I have some problems and I really appreciate your help. I add a flash slide in the root gallery which is visible with IE6.0 but not visible with Mozilla.
Also the alignment is disturbed when using Mozilla, but is correct when IE is used.

Image

... and this is how it looks in FF:

Image.

I also want to use two banners on left and right, but I didn't know how to do it, so I create a background image, but this is working well only at the resolution 1024 x 768: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-2/1146222/BGcopy.jpg. Maybe you can tell me how to put the banners instead of fixed BGimage.

The code which I used in the description for flash is the following:

<object

classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"

codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"

width="725" height="269" id="tech" align="middle">

<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain"

/>

<param name="movie"

value="http://softmedia.ro/flash/mynature1.swf" />

<param name="quality" value="high" />

<embed src="http://softmedia.ro/flash/mynature1.swf"

quality="high" width="460" height="170" name="tech"

align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"

type="application/x-shockwave-flash"

pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">

</embed>

</object>

But the strange thing is that it seems that the <embed> tag is removed somehow when I "Update Gallery", because it is not in the "page source" but it is still there if I try to update the gallery again!

I hope you can help me solving the problems.
Thanks in advance,

Marius.

Solved one problem

So, I have solved the alignment problem, and looks good in 1024 X 768; but I am still in search for a solution about flash on the Firefox Browser.
I also need some help for posting the two banners on right and left instead of fixed BG image.
Any thoughts?

For flash in Firefox, see this thread http://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?t=16724
