Editing the Luis Borruel Root Gallery

Post Wed Mar 28, 2007 7:19 pm

Hi,

I am in the process of re-designing my root gallery using the slide show and html code from Luis Borruel. I do not want any gallery thumbnails to display on the front page. What code do I need to remove from the CSS code to display the root gallery without thumbnails.

Regards

Mark

If I recall right, you can add this to your sheet:

.thumbnails{display:none;}

You might need to place an image in the root gallery for it to work.. I can't recall the specifics, but hopefully that should do it.

It just doesn't work on Safari, the last few times I was on one (like
tonight, but worse, that was in a class where pbase itself wasn't
allowed :-) ). It's a known thing. Use Firefox. And know that Mac
users on Safari won't be able to see it. Most Mac users I know use
Firefox and/or IE though!

Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be many people using Safari according to my stats:

356 Days Tracked
MSIE Core 35753 66.69%
Mozilla/Gecko Core 14529 27.10%
Other Browsers *includes Safari 2443 4.56%
Opera 776 1.45%
Netscape 86 0.16%
Mobile Browsers 23 0.04%

But, I've noticed a slight increase over the last year, not drastic overall, but about double the early months.

As people buy more Macs you'll see it, since Safari is the default
browser that comes with it.

Mac users tend to use what comes with their machines.

While they're 5% of the total business market, I think they're a bit more
on the home level, but I don't know. So, the figures sort of match.

Mac does not recognize javascript

As far as I know, nobody using a Mac will be able to see your slideshow because Macs do not recognize javascript.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a Mac and you can see the slideshow just fine. Both in Safari and in Firefox.

We can always see Bunuel's slideshow in Firefox on mac but not in Safari, in two schools in which I have classes. Which version of Safari are you using and I'll check that, plus the preferences setting, in case that's the problem,
whatever the default might be.

Thanks!
