message using a table on profile page

Post Sun Jul 15, 2007 4:11 pm

I want to have a table so I can layout my message on my profile page; when I do the table, however, I get a big space above the table. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

thanks a bunch!

I think the profile link should be http://www.pbase.com/jypsee/profile

It looks like you're using BR to break the code for the table. Try removing those and also add a end of TR before the end of TABLE. The second TD needs to be ended as well. If you need to use BRs use them within the data in the start and end of the TDs

<br><TABLE WIDTH= 100% BORDER=4 CELLSPACING=10 CELLPADDING=0>

<br><TR>
<br><TD HEIGHT=50 WIDTH=400 ALIGN=TOP><IMG SRC="http://www.pbase.com/jypsee/image/32249308/medium.jpg"></TD>
<br><TD WIDTH=800 ALIGN=right VALIGN=TOP><FONT=times new roman ALIGN=right VALIGN=top>I've been making pictures for 47 years; with an old manual focus Mamiya Secor camera and then with various Pentax cameras. A number of years ago I began to have difficulty with manual focus and switched to an autofocus Pentax. My picture making was no fun any more because film camera autofocus is no panacea. So, I went to digicams, beginning with a Sony DSC-S70 and a used Canon Pro70. Nice and fun, but no joy. No feeling of accomplishment. I bought the Canon Digital Rebel in the middle of February 2004, with an upgrade to a 20D in September 2004. I'm making more pictures and getting more joy every day. I'm a photographer again. Digital photography will turn out better photographers than film ever did; it's an immediate feedback information loop. No waiting for darkroom processing to fix technique.

I gave your fix a whirl and still have all that space at the top of the message box. Thanks for the help... guess I'll just have to get rid of the photo

I added a table to my profile and it resulted in the same issue. I suspect there's some misplaced/missing code within the pbase profile code that results in the extra space.

Is that a statement or a question? You can add a table, it just depends whether you're happy with the excessive space above it.
