NEED HELP --Is there any tutorial for beginner

I have been wanting to make my Pbase gallery looks a bit nicer. But I do not know how to start, is there any tutorial posted on how to do this modification.
I need to know from the beginning, I do not even know how to get to the HTML page. Not I know how to HTML programming, but at least I can center the photo in the root gallery.
Please help...
