Where do you upload header images to?

Hi, I am getting handle on the code what I never seem to see is where to uplad the images too, that will ne invoked in the header script. I have tried reading the file paths in source but am still alittle bit unsure. I 's value help.
Do I put the img src to an external server where the image is

or if its in the gallery folder wont it show up

so ya see I am confused.

I keep all of my header images in a hidden gallery (ie, I've deselected the "this gallery can be viewed by anyone" checkbox). As long as you don't hide the images you can refer to them using the

format, where xxxxxx is the number of the header image.

thanku larena. i have wanted to get this sorted for yonks and now i have. dont quite understand whats happening with the folders for the image, like where it is at root level but i have it working.
