I would like to thank not only the wonderful people who have supplied numerous answers to questions asked, but also the people who posed the questions!! I have learned so much from all of you.

My question is this: After adding a background image (like wallpaper) to my home page, every time I open it I see a flash of color before the background image appears. I can manipulate the color, but I would like it to go away! I'm sure I have missed something basic and please do not laugh at my attempts with code!!

You added the background image correctly using css, but your background image is huge! It takes a the browser a very long time to download it, that is why even when it is cached in your browser you still see the flash of colour before it is loaded from your harddrive.

I strongly recommend using a much smaller background image that can be tiled. This mega file takes a very long time for people to download.
