I would like your advice on my color combinations

I am interested in color and its affect on nearby colors. Sometimes I know there's a lack of harmony in my images but I'm not sure what's wrong. Could you give me your ideas on how I can improve my photos?

Basic colour theory revolves around the colour wheel (from the Canon DSLR Challenge page)


Colours opposite on the wheel are considered to be 'complimentary colours' eg (Orange and Blue, Yellow and Purple) and colours that sit next to each other are considered 'similar colours'. The third class of colour combinations are those colours that sit approx a third of the way round the wheel from each other, these have strong contrast.
