Stop the War in Iraq! Pictures of Peace

Post Sat Mar 27, 2004 9:28 pm

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post to pbase & I wanted to invite you all to check out the pics I took from the peace rally in NYC on March 20th 2004 http://www.pbase.com/rooster/peace_rally . Lot of great creative works were expressed in a myriad of ways. I had lots of fun at the rally & taking the pictures.

I would love to see other pics from around the globe, if anyone has any.
Hit me back with comments if ya got any!

Thanks

Freedom of Peace

One does not have to be liberal to believe in Peace, instead of war. Thanks for sharing what most of the World expresses..
A fellow Republican.

My view

Post Sun Mar 28, 2004 6:13 am

I think posts that are trying to send a political message should be kept in the political, law and religion forum. Most people here use photography as an hobby or escape away from the harsh reality's of this world. I don't think any of us need to be constantly reminded how bad are leaders are or how be we are 24/7. No matter what or who you believe in this is a proper place and time for things.

No political opinion was expressed

Post Sun Mar 28, 2004 6:17 am

This is just a reminder that my post did not include any political comment, neither my gallery. It was just a report on the demonstration on Montreal; and as the name of this section says it all "Show and Tell" this is what I did:
Showed and Told!

Relax!

Uh, he told us how much fun he had and asked for comments. So don't complain when there are comments. Patrick Henry once asked if life was so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. It's a lot easier to choose peace when somebody else gets the chains and slavery.

In this section I ask for comments on the photographic work not political opinions! I was not complaining, I was trying to explain.

Again... Relax...

awesome photographs, and great composition!

also, i remember seeing photo galleries posted by soldiers who i'm not sure even had pbase accounts. if you all are serious about not allowing political photography on this site, where are your comments about non political posting in the soldier galleries?

This angry prick, sent me a private message & this is what he worte:
"Keep your fucking anti war anti amreican bullshit to to your self asshole"

They were just pictures from a rally. USre they had political messages but they weren't my own personal, made for me, messages. They were expressions of AMERICANS' political messages. I just photographed them.

It is not up to you to dictate to anyone here what is appropriate & what is not. You always have the option to not see or reply to these types of postings & show & tell fotos. That's your right. It seems awfully un-american to be reacting the way you are , telling people what they can & can't post.

Only psychos send unintelligent crap like you did to me. How dare you tell me what I can do & should do. You worry about yourself & spend less time telling me what I should do. I will continue to do as I please as should you & everyone else. Let's see if you can express your thoughts & feelings in a civilised manner.

And let me remind you that your post here & your insulting rude message to me is YOUR POLITICAL VIEW!

Rooster, nice work. I like the picture of 'Mothers for peace' best.

I'm a photojournalist myself, so I'm used to people disliking the images that I sometimes shoot. Well that's life, not everybody likes to be shown what happens in the world. The best advice to those people: don't buy newspapers, don't listen to the news and throw the tv out of the window :-)

Anyway, Rooster: Nice work and keep on shooting.

Best regards,
Paul Teixeira

Nice work, rooster !

I like to shoot rallies, since people are spontaneous and do not mind the photograph.

BTW pacifist rallies are festive and people not aggressive.
