jcboyd wrote:Eric ? you have some nice images. Most seem to run toward PJ ? Photo Journalism. Nothing wrong with that. As for the camera being older than you. The great photos are inside you, not inside the camera.
As a pbase user you will have access to millions of photographs. The images posted at this site run from amateur to professional. Seek out photographers whose work you enjoy. Place these photographers in your favorites list. Look through the popular galleries (skip the pretty girls). When finding an image that says ?WOW? to you, dissect it, try to find out what really is exciting about this image. We can learn much from using this technique.
Take all types of art classes, computer classes, digital photo classes, yearbook classes you can find.
Volunteer a few hours each week at a local newspaper. Volunteer to shoot a few photos at the senior citizens get together. If people like the results you may find a few PAYING jobs coming your way. After all, new digital camera are not cheap!
Most of all have fun with your creativity. - john
Thanks for the suggestions John!
I'll definately try to submit my photos to local newpapers:D!
As for taking art courses... I don't know. School has been quite tense lately with all the exams and so on, plus I only wish to keep photographing as a leisure hobby, might as well just learn it through personal experience rather than taught by art teachers. After all, photos are to capture the photographer's ideas and emotions at the time of shooting.
Hhhehe ja I have looked at many galleries at PBase already, a lot of them are truly amazing! I get inspired a lot just by looking at these photos!
Oh I LOVE my Canon FTb, it used to be my dad's cam. I like it a lot more than my digi cam.

I like how the FTb is able to give me total control instead of all the auto settings that my digi does.
Photo journalism? I never realised that. What exactly is photo journalism? What is its definition?
Thanks,
Eric
