Batteries (hot stuff)

I went a cycle on sunday, took the digicam, put some spare aa batteries in my pocket, forgot all about them

sitting in the house at night, my pocket was burning, jumped up started jumping and dancing about the room,

I pulled the battery out it was BURNING thought my leg was on fire


turns out the coins I had in my pocket had made a circuit from both ends of the of the battery!!!!

Yea, the same thing happened to me one time. Damm near burned off the family jewels. That's why I keep them in a plastic case (the batteries, that is) from now on.

I've never kept batteries in my pocket, but your story reminded me of the time I had a can of pepper spray in my pocket! I used to cycle through a bad area so I got the can as a security measure. Unfortunately this plan backfired as the can spontaneously discharged its fiery contents over my crotch. Plan B was to velcro it to the handlebars (the pepper spray, not the family jewels).

well I managed to get a case today, must have been fate, I saw a digital photography magazine in the shop today, it had a free memory card case, which as luck would have it has space for 8 batteries! So the mag had to be bought,

Unfortunately don't think theres room for pepper spray!!

well worth it though,
