Ansari XPrize - Scaled Composites bid with SpaceShipOne

I've had the opportunity to view and photograph all three flights to space by Burt Ratan's group Scaled Composites SpaceShipOne. For the flights X1 and X2, the bid for the $10 million prize, I was invited by the XPrize Foundation to shoot for them...it was very nice to have nearly unfettered access.

It was amazing to witness and be part of history in the making,

I've followed Scaled Composites for the last year or so, and regularly check their web-site. I also watched the recent live web-casts of their flights to claim the X-prize. So I really appreciate you posting high quality pictures of these exciting endeavors.

Last night Discovery Channel had three hours of shows about SC and their prize winning flights -- very interesting stuff. Rutan is a genius.

Unfortunately I missed that, plus there'll be no cable service for me for a while. A 90' tree fell down in the garden a few days ago damaged the corner of the house (including ripping out the cable) and gave the car a bit of unique character too!
