Favorite galleries question?

One of my galleries http://www.pbase.com/wembley/winter recently appeared on the favorite galleries section. I had a comment in that gallery that said someone had voted for my gallery?
My querstion is, how does a gallery get onto the favorites pages? The page count isn't too high so does 1 vote get you onto the favorites section? I guess so.

I am happy with my gallery but it is nothing in comparison to many of the others (and I don't regard it as my favorite of my own work).
Check out these excellent galleries and 1 particular image from others. All much more worthy of being voted as favorites.

Your guess is correct. Votes are meant to be another channel for the rest of the community to see & enjoy nice/good/clever/funny/whatever photos. The general idea of votes is to:
Vote for photos and galleries that you think are good and that other people will want to see

The things is that you need one vote to enter to one of the 7 days populars; 7 day photos or 7 day gallery. Those galleries change everyday (during night), so your stuff will be posted there for a whole week and you probably have more visitors and more comments (eventually). In deed other people can vote, and that can help your gallery to go up in the favorites (wich might be good because not everybody sees the whole 600/700 list). And that´s the whole thing about populars... Conclusion? Somebody thought your stuff was good, so do I.
