Infrared newbie ... and other stuff

Post Tue Oct 19, 2004 9:50 pm

I thought I would make an attempt here to generate some more traffic through my galleries.

I've recently given them a major overhaul and if you're interested in IR at all (Infrared) please give a visit and let me know everything I'm doing wrong. lol!

I've been to the Sony Talk Forum on dpreview.com and they were all very helpful with getting me started. The results are here at PBase.

Enjoy and Thank you!

Joseph,
I am going to be blunt about your galleries. You wanted to know everything you are doing wrong. OK, here’s what is wrong. You have after each image the .jpg. Get rid of this, then nothing will be wrong. Really, your galleries and images look great.

Your Galleries

Hi,

I would like to see the exif (image information) with your photos. Are you using film or digital? What filters? I appreciate the beauty you are trying to show us. I have not even approached the IR world yet. Please, give us some insight.

Also, the logo you have, while it is probably a nicely designed, is a tad intrusive on the shot. Distracting.

I know those are nits. Hope you become fabulously famous. Do stop by and look at mine, too?

Thanks,
Ellsworth Weaver

Done and Done ... I never even thought of it. Thank you so much for the advice. I'll stop by soon and pay a visit.

Yes the exif ... there are quite a few of my photos that do have the exif information but for those that do not I've rendered them in some shape or form in Photoshop. (Thank you Adobe!) They do not retain their exif information. Unless someone can tell me how I can protect it during touch-up ??? That would be great.

After a week or two of having the (c) on my photos I feel the same as you with it being a distraction and I am currently designing something different. I agree.

As for Infrared I use the Sony DSC-F828 digital. It's the only camera I have as I am a new kid on the block so to speak but enjoy it just as much I'll warrant than any of the pros out there. The filters that I use are explained on the gallery heading page if you wish to see it. More information can be found in the Sony Talk Forum on dpreview.com. A very comprehensive forum and a great place for information and advice. Terrific community there.

Thanks for the compliments folks. I'll be adding more soon and I'll try and visit all that reply to mine.

Peace

J
