Looking for old photographs to restore for free!!

Post Wed Dec 01, 2004 7:19 pm

Do you have any old photographs you would like restored? I need some old beat up pictures to supply to members of the forum I moderate. They will attempt restore the photo then post it online. I will post the URL of the site here and you can view the results.

If you do, could you scan them in and post them here. All rights to the image including the restored images our members create remain with you.

Sound great Bob, but how big (pix?) it should be? I have a whole bunch that you can use posted here in PBase (My Oldies), but I´m unsure if they will work for you. Some have 800X??? and other are way bigger. Specially the one with me naked (as a child, don´t worry you won´t get blind)... that might be a good challenge.

Thanks

Thanx a bunch. I think I found one that I can use. The size isn't a problem, but most of yours are in pretty good shape or you have already fixed them up. I need ones with lots of scratches and tears and dings and such.

When I post the image I will include a link back to your original.

Thank again.

AHahha check out almost all of the photos in my galleries then.
These photos themselves are not "old," but the camera I use is (Canon FTb). Thus the quality of the photos might not be that great, especially when no photoshops are involved, and are not developed professionally (London Drugs, Save-On Foods or other supermarkets and so on).

Here's one I'd like your group to try. In particular can you remove the big white mark in the bottom left hand corner. I don't want the photo cropped on the left because I'd like to keep the aircraft on the far left in the frame.

If possible could you provide two output files - one to rectify the one splodge, then save, then work on other parts of the photo for a second file.

Cheers

Ray

If you want to try that one, I could post the original scan (2x and uncropped).

I'd welcome your efforts of a few I've put at
http://www.pbase.com/steveandmarcy/dad

Dad passed away this week and I'm going to try to restore many old photos for a tribute slideshow for the family. These are the first I've uploaded.

Thanks for your efforts.

Thanx to all of you for your pictures. I will definately be using some of them in the next few weeks. I give them one at a time every few weeks, so if you have any others, could you please post them here. Matias was good enough to give me the first picture which I posted at Innographx. Here is the result of what one person has done. Click back here for others who may work on the picture.
