which one?

Post Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:51 pm

I'm new to digital photography, so new that I just order a 20D last night. I've been going around with our Fuji 3800 3.2 mega pixels taken photos of Fall foliage, moose, turkeys and just about anything that catches my eye. Today I was out and took this barn/shack photo and wanted to know what some of you thought  I liked it because of the different shapes and lines in the barn, the ice on the tree limbs is what my wife likes. You like the B/W or color better? and on a scale 1 to 10, where does this picture fit the scale?

I like the color version better. I'd give it a 7. Did you try any other angles?[/list]

...that the B&W one was my favorite, but I realized I like the color one better. Like the rust against the otherwise B&W pic.

Good for you for getting a 20D. I shoot a 300 D Rebel EOS. If you are interested in an online community of Canon users, please contact me. It is free, it is supportive, it is non-censored by any moderator.

I think both versions are o.k,but maybe you could try a little contrast enhancement and usm.Enjoy your 20D.

Thanks for the comments and for the advise. Although I didn't with this photo, next time it will try a different angles. I'm still very, very green compared to a lot of great photographers I've seen on this site. I can't wait for my new camera to arrive and I'm going to have a blast learning more about taking photographs :D

Thanks again everyone

I prefer that color picture just because it has a hint of color. I like your idea of going back and trying different angles. I think that might add more interest. Good luck with the new camera. Learning is fun and even when you have been photographing for a number of years there will be more areas to explore and always something to learn.--Rene
