Beware the photo thief

I think the site handled Chuck's complaints very badly. They should not be deleting posts, but taking care of the problem instead. Finally they did the right thing, but in a clumsy manner.

I am really shocked to read all the posts in this thread suggesting that because stealing photos without permission or even credit is common practice, Chuck has no reason to be angered by it. C'mon people! Maybe if it were your own photos being used without credit, and without even responding to your email and requests, maybe you would see it differently. Boggles my mind how folks can just say "oh well, everyone does it so it's okay." It's not okay. Such behavior should never be condoned or excused or considered acceptable. What ever happened to respect for the rules? This sounds like another sad example of society's slide downhill, IMO.

I dont think anyone defended the theft. Some people just react to it differently. IF you want to call this a crime than call it a crime but the point some of us were trying too make is that there is an expectation that this thing happens. buyer beware, and as for all the stupid analyagies please. I dont think of my car as a piece of art that I created.
Upon reading the orginal post I dont think anyone was disagreeing with the anger or fustration created by having ones work stolen, just trying to help him cope with this defiling and abusive treatment. This ranks up there as one of the greatest crimes ever committed.

I repeat , this picture of this ape in orginal and post PS format has been viewed more times now that this has happened. Not really that interstng of a picture people. I mean why the hell do you take pictures and post them on the net? Certianly not to have people look at them.

I think that the site handled themselves well and removed the picture. Oh no now the world wont be able to view this incredible photograph.
