I think it's the graininess. Were you using a high ISO level?

I think it's the great lighting you have. Paintings tend to have incredibly high dynamic range (relatively dark skies that cannot account for the diffuse lighting of the subjects, for instance). In addition, I see very minimal (if at all) perspective distortion. Either this is a longer focal length than it appears or you used a tilt-shift lens to straighten the building lean (or used software -- not nescessarilly Photoshop -- to correct it).
