The dark rectangle on the left is the original! Yes, there is actually all the definition there that came out on the right after Photoshop manipulation! Nikon D70, Nikkor 55mm ais, 1/60 2.8

Original, complete with dirt on the lens
Cropped, levels, black point set, sharpened. Not great, but I like it better than the original.
