No, I went to an annual event called Pennsic War. It's an SCA (The Society for Creative Anachronism) http://www.sca.org/welcome.html event. They hold a two week or so battle at a campground very near here. They get about 12,000 people in attendance from all over the world. No one is allowed to dress on the grounds in "normal" clothing. All participants dress in costume that ranges from the Roman era to the Renaissance. There are two main armies and also a giant group of barbarians. They have a "war week" when daily battles are held between sides. They really beat the heck out of each other too!
