Nice shot...I like the dynamic/tonal range, depth of field, colours, composition and most everything about this photo. Hard to find something to complain about on an image like this one. Good post.

Cheers

Sure brings back memories, there is nothing that beats the beauty of the Lake District in the sun. Shades of green.
Thanks for sharing.

I most assuredly agree with Don about the high quality of the image, and what's more, I love that it is a recent image of a beautiful place that truly exists -- and can be visited by many of us. I just watched "Sense and Sensibility" on Monday night, and marveled at the English countryside shown. Don't know whether it's anywhere near the Lakes District, but I'm just so happy to see beautiful country without any obvious trace of tract homes, dirt bikes, and other ugly scars to deface it.

I'd love to visit near where this image was created, but I may never go that far, so I'm really happy that you chose to share your beautiful image.

Lake District

To: CJ, Herb and Don,

It is a pleasure to read your replies and to know that you liked the above image and the atmosphere of the Cumbria's Lake District. It truly does exist and is suited for walks and relaxation, though some of us I find have forgotten how to relax in our fast lives.

I first went to Cumbria on a camping trip with my parents years ago in July 1977. Back then I was a teenager and did some canoeing that I will always remember. My mother was alive then and we camped on a lake opposite which I could see the beautiful house in which Wordsworth lived for part of time when he wrote. I always did cherish that family time we had together.

In 2001 I decided to take my family on a similar trip.

The climax of the trip for me was at the top of Hardknott Pass where the ruins of a Roman fort are still quite visible and overlook a beautiful valley.
We had a picnic lunch there and just soaked in the spectacular green scenery dotted with sheep down in the valley. In some of the pictures the white dots you see down below are sheep.

I have a few more images that I will add soon.

Thank you and regards.

Hardknott Pass, Lake District

I have now uploaded a few more pictures of this area. The following two are a sample:

1. Hardknott Pass. In the distance, on the right of the thin meandering road going down, are the remains of the ruins of an ancient Roman Fort. You may be able to see a couple of cars parked there.

2. Lake District

Thank you for visiting.

Arif, these are all gorgeous. When I visit England next, I'm going to make it a point to visit that area. And Cornwall :)
