Yeah i'm new to photography, yeah i'm new to pbase. But i love it! I'm 26 years old and never thought i'd enjoy watching and taking pictures this much!

I bought this old Cybershot s70 of a buddy of mine...just to see if i'd like it...and start making pictures. Man, it's hard!! I don't know how you all do it!!!

But here it is. A 'gallery' of someone who just touched a camera for a week or so! haha

To all the members of pbase: thank you! for the inspiration and all the great work! i hope to have your 'vision' one day!

Greetz,

El Marz.

I think you have a nice eye for composition, particularly "knife", "g f t", and "tree". Good job. Keep posting

Wow! it's hard for me to believe this because all you guys (and girls) post all those really really great pictures!!! R.E.S.T.E.C.P.!
I don't know if this new hobby of mine is going to get out of hand or if i'm going to buy 1000+ dollar camera's and lenses and filters ....i don't know all the terms! Sorry!
All I know is i like making pictures with this cheap ass camera right now! haha ;)
Like I said, i'm really new to this....i have never read stuff about photography or something..nor had the pleasure of experimenting.

That time is now...

Thank you for the kind words...but be real! Give me tips on how to improve! What pics are shitty and what pics are 'OK'?
I can take it ;)

Thnx.

Grtz,
El Marz.

I use a SonyCybershot as well. I think it's called Sony CyberShot 2.0. Very basic digital camera. Anyway, like you, I got into photography, so my dad gave me his old, old Canon FTb. I have to say, I love it more than the digital... and overtime, I get to love it even more. It is completely mechanical, so you get to have total control. In addition, I find that the film texture is able to express more than the 'flat' digital images (also films are not 'prefect', but it's the imperfections that I crave). Mechanical cameras are also cheaper than digital as well, and pssh, drop it and still works. The only problem associating with my Canon I found is that the film and developing costs are quite high, for me anyway. Anyway, I still like my Canon FTb, since good digitals are too expensive to invest in, and hey, I still think my Canon owns. To sum up, I'd say mechanical cameras are like letters while digital cameras are e-mails, so whatever floats your boat...
