I LOVE FISH

Post Sun Nov 23, 2003 1:21 am

These fish are from Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika in Africa. They do not live in any other lakes. They are some of the most colourful freshwater fish in the world. More species of fish in Lake Malawi than all of the Great Lakes combined. The fish in this gallery are from 1 inch to six inches long in size. Almost 200 pics to view currently. Comments welcome.
Thank you.

I hope you don't take offense to this fish picture. It was let go. But the colors of Rainbow trout are just amazing.

Those are some sweet looking trout. Here is a red-finned borleyi from Lake Malawi, Africa. 5 inches long.

I have some in my aquarium that look similar.
Are they from the same region too?

Your fish look like juvinile red zebra from Lake Malawi, Africa. I am not positive though. It may be a Labeotropheus trewavasae. If his mouth is at the bottom of the snout it is more than likely a trewavasae. Thanks for posting.

Looks like a juvenile unicorn. Once again - I'm up here in San Francisco and my leather bound fish bible is in San Diego.

Here's a Garibaldi from off the Southern California Coast.
