My sweetie, Nathan, at a friend's birthday party a few weeks ago

I grew up with horses and love them too. I don't own any now but my parents own about five. They ride several weekends a month.

Horses sure are beautiful animals! Not the easy creatures to photograph though...they spend too much time swatting flies with their noses in the grass! And when they do move, they are completely unpredictable and you can't focus fast enough! Here are a couple action shots I managed to get though.

Hi everyone! Lots of nice photos here.

I've got a horse, but don't get to ride much. This was taken last summer.

Lisa, pretty horses...which one is yours?

The white horse above is my daughter's horse. I sold my own a few years ago.

Well, Phyllis, neither of those two horses are mine. It was just a nice shot of two horses that hang together all the time. This next photo is my horse

Phyllis,
I especially like your second shot with the ripling muscles, alarmed look in the eyes and high tail. That must have been a tough one to shoot. You are right about how difficult it is to take their pictures when they are moving fast. Great picture.

I've always loved horses. Unfortunately, I'm deathly allergic to them. :(

Thanks, Arif. That picture was taken just after sunset...was too dark to use a fast enough speed so I panned and hoped for the best. It's not without a bit of blur, but considering the lighting I was satisfied. I lightened it a lot in Photoshop...the original was pretty much gray all over! What did we ever do without Photoshop!

Lisa, your horse is gorgeous! Is it a palamino or a cremello? What's his/her name? Why don't you have more time to ride? Too bad. :(

Here’s Mustang Sally again.

And here's my ex-horse lying down to roll in the dirt. Some horses love that. Owners hate it of course! Wally is a roller, and he's white to boot...ugh!

I have owned only one pony, like this one below.

My uncle would get him drunk and he got very mean. He fed him crackers when they were drinking together. The horse loved beer, but I hated my uncle for ruining him. His name was Micky-Nabisco...after the crackers.

Cheers
