Nice roses, excellent colour / composition.

Nicksie, you have the right idea for roses, IMO. Keep it simple and close. Roses just beg for close ups and can't take competition.

I see folks have turned this into a "post your flowers" thread...so if Nicksie doesn't mind, I'll offer one also. I guess this is as different from the elegant cultured rose as you can get and not be a "weed."

Nikki - Your roses are beautiful!

Here is an unusual flower for the forum. I know this isn't a horticulture class or anything, but if anyone knows what kind of flower this is, I'd love to know what it's called! It's growing in my grandmother's front yard.

Looks like a lace cap hydrangea to me. It's a spring/summer blooming shrub that comes in pink, white, and blue as far as I know. I have a blue one in my yard.
