Pinhole and Blur Photography

Post Wed Feb 18, 2004 10:36 am

Hi,

I have had a go at pinhole photography using a Canon 300D Digital Rebel and a pinhole pierced in a piece of aluminium cut from a drinks can, mounted across a hole drilled in the body cap.
I really like the abstract results, come and see if you do too!

its good fun, you should try it!

Well that's pretty cool. I havn't seen that done before with a DSLR. The out of focus areas (like the whole image for most of them!) are silky smooth.

What sort of exposure times were you using (I won't ask you what the aperture was!) ?

Cheers, Rob.

Thanks Rob,

You should be able to view the exif data for all the photos in the gallery, but in general, shutter speed would have been between 1 and 3 seconds, and the smaller the pin-hole, the closer you get to f-0, or infinite depth of field. My pin-hole is not the smallest and I will try to create a smaller one, although that would give sharper images which is not necessarily what I'm doing with these.

Regards

Adam
