Any Interest In This?

Hi All,

I create images with audio. I'm an award winning composer/sound designer and am trying to determine if there is any interest among photographers that exhibit their work to have a custom sound environment created for their showing. For example: if there is a showing of Southwest landscapes I could create the appropriate mood through music and sound that would enhance the experience. It would be created in surround sound and would be a backdrop for the visual images so as not to over shadow them.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for responding. The language of sound is very difficult to pull off. But I'll try....Imagine a photo exhibit of clouds, OK? One perceives it visually and with a mental reference of their own experience. That's very cool but, when you add sound such as: wind, an eagle screech (sp?) an ethereal chord that maybe sounds like an imagined bucnh of angels singing...well you have added a whole new dimension to the visual image. If an action movie had no sound to go with it ..it would look stupid. The sound adds another layer of feeling. Check out my website
http://www.stevensamler.com and listend to Cave-Record Project. You'll hear sound design of water dripping in a cave along with the aloneness of the minimal music. It is my interpretation of what it feels like to be in a cave.

If you had a showing of pictures in and about caves and had this music in the background in surround sound you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about. Let me know if that helps.

Heh. You've done lots of music for commercials I see.

I can picture that it would be cool to visit an art exibition with the art connected to the music if you know what I mean. One could make different rooms in the exibition with different themes of pictures and thereby different music to the pictures. That would be a cool experience..
