Post your image with the highest number of directly links (not added by you), that is your most stolen picture (well it'll only be the most stolen using pbase band width, we'll never know about the copied to other location thefts except by chance) and give us the number of links. None of mine direct link numbers are too impressive so I'll not post one myself.

43 on this 100% crop and 3294 page hits. But, this represents my hawk gallery and has appeared on the favorite galleries a number of times, so I guess those contributed to direct link counts?

This is one of the most direct linked - 238 direct links on 1913 page views in 14 months


BUT this shot had 12 direct links on 101 page views in two weeks - high percentage of hits



I emailed Slug a month ago regarding this issue but has yet to respond.

No I got the idea after replying to rbndave's thread in the " Questions and Answers" forum titled "Someone is using my photos" he has an image with 503 direct links!
I wonder if these massive numbers of direct links could be due to an image link being placed in an e-mail which was repeatedly forwarded resulting in a new direct link with each recipient. It is hard to believe that some images would get taken for illegal use on so many other sites.... but I could be wrong.
I 've checkout all your photos and they are great I can see why someone might take them. Once I got an e-mail asking for the original 3MP version of one of my photos. I said I'd have to know what they wanted it for (as it featured an identifiable person) and they didn't reply.. but the image in question gained a direct link, so I guess they thought that the pbase resolution was good enough and they'd take it that way as they'd not really copied it.

The ratio of direct links to views seems unusually high to me.

Log in, view an image you wish to check and if it has direct links they'll show just below the hit number.
