Quiz... Where am I?

See if you can ID this location without clicking on the photo! I hardly ever see photographs of this 698ft work of nature? Nat'l Geo doesn't even show it on their Atlas... but they do show much smaller wonders.
Godd luck!

Where am I?

Without a doubt, you are in Morro Bay, California.

I spend many days at this great little town each year. About 3 hours driving time from my home it is a great place to get away from California's Central Valley heat. Many other towns in this area are worth visiting also. Cambria to the north is full of shops that display artwork and crafts. While in Cambria be sure to visit Bill La Brie’s "Vision’s of Nature" Photo Gallery. Incredible work.

When visiting Morro Bay be sure to try “Taco Templeâ€

Morro Rock at Morro Bay is one of my favorite places too! This photo was a winner of the month for black and white at the Woman's Digital Photographers site on PBASE. Click on the link below to see some other Morro Rock pictures in my gallery and visit some of the other galleries too.

Yep, Morro Rock - really the southern coastal end of one of the most scenic drives anywhere - Highway 1 Morro Bay to Carmel!

One of the strangest fog pictures I've ever seen was taken here - the fog was in a low bank about 150 ft thick right to waters edge but then arched up and over the rock. One morning (w/o camera - grrr) we drove through and perched on fence posts at the side of the highway were probably a dozen buzzards, all perched in the same strange wings out, head up posture they get at times.

Perhaps not as famous as the Monterey/Carmel end of the drive, the Montana de Oro area, the bay, dunes and estuary are worthy destination points for photography as well.
