new poster, le mans race pics

Hello

I am still trying to figure out how to use pbase correctly, so sorry if I mess us

I have set up a gallery, and would like any comments or opinions.

I had the camera, a d70, a week before I went on this trip, had previously used a coolpix 5000 or whatever I could borrow

I was on the grandstand before the Dunlop curve. Did you had a press pass or similar?

Thanks for checking out my home page. The picture you are asking about I did not use any flash. The exposure was all over the place for those pictures due to the light that the fire gave off. Even the dark pictures of the jet cars was taken in sunlight, it just made the shutter speed so fast to avoid over exposing the flames.

dark photos in bright light

I had similar photos when I shot the start of the race, all the headlights made the camera assume it was too bright, and adjusted everything darker. I didn't have time to work on things then, though.

I asked about flash because someone suggested it to me about that type of shot, sometimes you end up with making the front end a bit more crisp without losing the flare or fire at the rear.

Of course it would mean hanging around a lot of dragsters to get it right!
