Would n e of you pay to enter a photo contest

If there were a photo contests on different things would you consider paying $2 to enter a picture into whichever contest you choose? Also the top 10 would all get some money.

Nah. It's basically a lottery but instead of chance, it's a popularity contest to determine the outcome. Too easily abused.

I would enter, even if just for fun. $2 isn't much of an investment and I am the competitive type. I understand my pictures are nothing compared to some fo the photographers here, but challenging myself would make me that much better. Sounds like fun to me!

Alright well the reasons people would pay is because the prize money would have to come from the people who submit pictures

Hard to quantify what would constitute a winner when we're talking subjectivity like photography.

I don't suppose as the "organizer" of such a contest you'd be skimming some of the pot as an "administration fee"?

I wouldnt touch the pot. Also for judges id go down to the college and get some people from the college there.

Now with the $2 per picture submitted it would be like $1.50 to the pot and .50 cents to the company for interenet fees and so on. Also if a person soo chooses we would keep their picture as a stock photo where they can also make money from that.

I would pay... if the contest was held by a company that could advance my art career or professional business... most companies ie: Kodak, Canon, Nikon and Fuji don't charge for contests... be wary...

Well like Id be running the whole website idea and all that. Id get it all professionally done. Theres a couple of reasons why people might want to enter some contests. First off winnings and getting their picture as stock can really help a person out. Secondly it would be the only internet website that has constant competitions. Theres even a thought of maybe making some contests that only allow 200 people and then it opens up another contest of the same kinda subject for 200 more people. Therefore your odds arent going to be astronomical
