Replace politics with art

Post Fri Sep 03, 2004 8:18 pm

If you are tired of seeing Political pictures at the top of the most popular galleries and most popular pictures, then post your favorite picture here as well as your favorite gallery. Vote for everyone above you in this topic. Then watch this topic. Vote for everyone's picture and gallery (non-political) that appears after yours. Not that many people vote, so it will only take a few of you to at least move the political pictures from the top 10 and your work gets noticed in the process.

So put your best foot forward and let's use it to kick this political nonsense out of the top 10.

As soon as I post this I am voting. Bob, your image is a wonderful example of art.

This photo was taken in the San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio. To find more of this style of images please visit:

And if anyone wants to vote on a gallery for me, I like this one:

It's a difficult decision to make, but I think that at just this moment my favorite of my pictures is this one, "Otter Point". (Naturally, anyone who wishes to is more than welcome to visit my gallery and state a differing opinion! <g>)

And my favorite gallery is, of course, http://www.pbase.com/w_d_p/shoshanna

Best wishes,

Please remember to vote for the pictures you see not only before you but after you in this topic. Creating links to your favorite gallery and favorite picture will make it easier for others to vote.

Excellent pictures here. They should all be at the top of the list. Vote and make this happen. If not, expect to see more of this:

http://www.pbase.com/image/32889260 It is at the top or near the top of both the 7 day and the 90 day list.

I guess there are many reasons for voting for a particular photograph, not all of them based on their artistic merit.

Thanx

Political replaced with art

I am suprised. With all the yapping about political pictures I thought this would get a ton of posts.

So did I. But it looks like a lot of people read it and maybe it will get them thinking about voting for something good instead of for a political idea. That was the true purpose for creating this topic not simply to get my pictures to the top. It is just that anything is better than some of the stuff we saw at the top. If every time you see someone else’s picture and you think "Wow, that is pretty good.â€

If we post a link to a great image I can’t see why the creator would object. We would only be singing praise for that person. Apologies in advance for any toes that may be stepped on.

How about it? Would anyone care to start? No political, nudes, product, spare parts, or glamour shots. Top three of others work? If you truly believe the posted image to be worthy of a vote please cast your vote. Voting just for the sake of voting is not what this is about.

What da hey, I'll give it a go...I've voted for a number of those above already...even before this thread started! :)

I took this picture 20 years ago when the only thing digital you could carry around with you was a watch.
