You are so good at that Shaun.

How do you add in your colors?

Thanks, Steve. I don't add in the colours actually.
Coloured filters are fitted to the large spotlight that
I use to paint the scene in light during the exposures.
An external flash head is fitted with the coloured
filters as well, but I do the majority of the lighting
with the spotlight.

Nice work Shaun. I've been meaning to try this myself for some time, bought the colored saran wrap for the spotlight and all, but just never got around to it.

Here is an exceptional artist who recently published a book with his work in it;

Troy is a very humble person and readily shares his techniques with everyone. Give him a visit.

Thanks, Darren. I've checked out Troy's site a few times over the past few months & I completely agree with him, there really is no magic or secret formula to it. While I don't tend to have as many abandoned boneyards in my area, I'm gravitating more towards landscapes lately.

The coloured filters that I use are available from any film industry lighting establishment, they are a film material & quite durable. Come in sheets of about 60cm x 60cm in any colour imaginable.

Give it a try, you've got the gear for it!

Shaun I figured you probably had already seen Troy's site as he may be considered a innovator in this field. Landscape work is nice, but so too are old barns and structures.

Some day I'll get around to this, but I don't think it'l be anytime soon, got other areas of photography I'm concentrating on now......portraiture.
