Someone Tell me what these are NEW Species

We were out in the woods and saw some black spots on the ground. When you see a spot and look up you see tree branches COVERED in these things and they are actually alive. So I was wondering what the heck they are. BTW ive been in woods all over the place and have never seen this or anything like it n e where else.

As far as I can see, these look like tiny white spiders. I never saw such a thing. Did a seach on google but they where a lot of links.

It would help if you mention where you saw this. I had to check your profile for your country but Canada is a large country.

Do you know what kind of tree was intested ? If so, you could ask someone that grow them for a living.

I live in southern ontario.

I have no idea of any kinds of trees.

But these things were only in a small select area out in the middle of the woods. Honestly picture all them suckers actually moving. AND they left Huge black spots on the ground.

So I call them fire bugs
