Can someone explain the stuffed bear thing to me?

Post Sat Nov 13, 2004 12:40 am

Ok, so i'm always the harsh one, but how does a bunch of mediocre at best snaps with a stuffed bear in them pass for popular day after day? This doesn't strike me as especially clever, am I missing something?

i have exactly one stuffed animal picture.

Image

i took it because it was just laying there, unattented, on the sidewalk. it was lonely and depressing in a "some child is missing their toy" kind of way. i didn't touch it or set it up at all.

normally i detest stuffed animal pictures.

With the PaD photo's it's not always a must to make great photo's, sometimes it's more about the story, I can't say what make's the bear so popular, I think for some people it brings a little smile on there faces once a day in these serious times :)

BTW, great pictures...

No harm being done

It is a take off of another theme and I have to disagree with you, many of the images are more than just snaps. I for one enjoy the levity that it brings into my life. It certainly is far more entertaining than the bush sucks newspaper spoofs and other political commentary going around here. They have a right to express themselves and I do ignore most of them and you certainly have the right to ignore stuffed teddies. My wife has a collection of teddies and I don't think she ever out grow them, and now my children are starting theirs. It brings a smile to theirs and my faces to see Frimpong the bear travel to places I'll probably never get the chance to go to.

We event spent an afternoon touring the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory while in the vicinity of Burlington Vermont not too long ago. Yep, we left with 4 of them expensive heaps of yarn. Ya know they have outfits for them bears for many blue collar occupations? Average cost of the bears with clothes, $160!! Somebody's smiling all the way to the bank.
