That's an amazing fruit, but surely not an orchid.

Do you know what it is?

This wasnt on any of the exibits, but in the wild areas of the gardens, so yeps, I could be mistaken.

I shall try and go to the gardens again and ask around what kind of fruit it is, does change the topic a lil erm, but I do have some orchid snaps still!

You are quite right that this is not an orchid.



It is the fruit of a common wasteland shrub, the "Simpoh Air", native to SE Asia. If you are keen, there's more info at this link:

My main interest is growing orchids (only got about 40), but I got a sony dsc-w12 (5.1mp) for Christmas. I am a "newbie" when it comes to digital cameras. If you know any good books, articles, internet pages about photographing flowers (orchids) I would be very interested.
