Interesting choice of subjects. Can't say I am crazy about your choice of day to photograph it, tho. Choosing a day with a more dramatic (partly cloudy or stormy sky) might have made things more interesting. I also think your photos could use a bit more color saturation.

Late afternoon or early morning sunlight bouncing off the barren shoreline would really be nice. It would also produce some interesting shadows.

In one picture there appears to be powerlines and/or buildings in the distance background. I find these a bit distracting. They are easily removable in Photo Shop or PSP.

Yeah, I have to agree. More dramatic lighting would really help the subject matter. Not that the images are bad, mind you, they're actually very nice, but with color landscapes such as these a more unique sky is really necessary.

Another way to go, with the light you had to work with, would be to convert these to black and white. The contrasting scenery could make a very dramatic image, and the flat light is perfect for BW. I think you would be pleased with how they look, if BW is your thing. As a matter of fact, the first think I said to myself when I looked at your pix was that I wish I had been there shooting BW.
