Thanks blu. Sounds like a good idea. I've managed to get more comments from posting in a photo-a-day gallery than I did previously, but I agree that reciprocating is a good idea: get a comment, make a comment. I'd already planned to do that for people who commented on my images and galleries, but haven't got into the swing of doing it yet, so have some catching up to do from the last month or so. This thread is probably the impetus I needed to make a proper start.

I just jumped in and commented on blu's (who created this thread) Favorites gallery and my favourite 5 images in there.

If anyone is interested in my galleries, I'd suggest:

I think the principle of "comments trading" is worth a try. So: For any 5 comments/critiques on any of my galleries/photos you'll get (at least) 6 back. (I don't only give positive feedback and don't only expect so, btw. Be constructive so we can learn from each other the most possible)

I looked at your People Photography pages mainly because that's what I do too. One thing I noticed about most of your photos is that they are mainly of people smiling. I photograph a tennis player, but I try to be different with my photos and rather than capture pictures of her huffing and puffing on a tennis court, I try to capture the lighter side of things, which isn't easy as tennis is a serious business. Smiles are often hard to come by, but when you do manage to get them, a smile is worth a thousand words. As the saying goes, it takes a few seconds to smile but the memory lasts forever.

I'd really appreciate any constructive comments about my photos please -although I have had over one and a quarter million page views in two years, so someone out there must like them

Count me in. I guess there's no such thing as commenting / receiving comments too much. I've got my share of comments, mostly from the other PaDders. I've paid it back by visiting their sites, but I also comment when I've found an interesting image. So here it is:

From February in a previous life

Not really qualified to comment as I only bought my first camera 6 months ago, but I'll try & be constructive.
All my pics are handheld & without flash, but if anybody can tell me how to get better, especially macro, pics I'd appreciate it. Forget the birds, only started a couple of weeks ago.
Have had a quick look at "uese" pics & find them stunning (colour & style) - will go back & take a closer look.
