ugo2bkdng: i took this from the east side of captiva (florida) just as the sun was rising. i tried to sneak up on the fisherman who did in fact see me but was not upset at me...he was irritated by the nearby pelican who was scavenging his catch. it's a lovely island, quiet and unspoiled.

This is a sunrise shot from high up (out of airplane window)... can anyone tell me why it looks so patchy (the color gradients look very harsh in the picture, especially in the bottom left)...is it my cheap camera or too much image compression or something?
