Great idea! Here are a couple of "undiscovered" I have in my favourites:

I know she started photography only about a year ago & has shown consistent improvement & is really producing some outstanding shots with only 60K hits.

Another artist who produces consistently great images, only 18K hits.

my nomination -- this guy qualifies!

O.K., thanks for clarifying the contest rules -- but I've come to my senses now, and it would be ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS for me to nominate myself and then express just what a tremendously talented and insightful photographer I think I am...

Instead of nominating myself, I would like to nominate someone I think we all know and love... Vasinger... You can visit Meade's rather amazing galleries over at: http://www.pbase.com/vasinger
So why am I nominating Vasinger? Because, 1: he really IS handsome...
2: because he IS actually older than he looks... 3: because his mother IS pretty... 4: because he actually DOES look like John Ritter... 5: because he does NOT look fat... 6: he has gotten almost as many visit to his galleries as I've gotten to mine... 7: his work is almost as good as mine...
8: most everyone has been really mean to him and we haven't heard from him too much recently... and finally 9: because he just never gives up -- which as a photographer, you know is a very admirable and essential quality to have...

Oh well, my apologies to those who I've probably just offended... I know I'm an idiot, so please don't get mad... And if you want to take a "swipe" at me, go ahead -- I've probably got it coming...

This is a cool idea; I could definitely recommend quite a lot that I have seen, but I'd actually like to put forward a friend of mine for consideration, partly because he's the reason I got interested in taking photos in the first place, but mainly on account of the photos he has taken since taking up photography as a hobby a couple of years ago. He'll have been a member of PBase for a year in October, hopefully that qualifies him!

Here are a few reasosn why I'm suggesting Andy:

Firstly I think there are some good examples of architectural shots in his galleries; he has the ability to make otherwise unremarkable buildings seem imposing and striking, and I'm always impressed how he can create a sense of drama even when you're just looking at a wall or a facade, which I am sure must be hard to do.

Secondly he's got a will to experiment that I admire; I'm referring to the types of cameras he uses - anything and everything from toy cameras, Lomo all the way up to an Xpan - which makes for a good set of diverse images.

And a final reason is this photo, which he took with his Lomo:

I know you're looking for an overall body of work rather than one outstanding image, and there are plenty of great photos within his galleries as I've said. But this one...well...I've probably looked at it more than any other photo on PBase. It doesn't need me to say anything about it really, just take a look!!!

Anyway, in my humble opinion, well worth a browse.

Cheers,

Stuart

This person has only been a member since Jan 06...does that mean she doesn't qualify?

There are many others with the same quality but this is the first that comes to mind.

Very nice gallery, need to be visited more!
