I chose this because it's my favorite shot of Robin's in my favorite photo place in the world. Couldn't improve it, but because Burano is both like a painting and an artist's world, I tried to make it look like a painting.

And as a painting:

Mary,
Most of your selection are so equisitely edited, it is hard to make a choice. I chose one of your landscapes that seemed to "scream" for a scarier setting.

Thanks, Margaret, and sorry to Erich. Indeed, I didn't compare them closely enough. Good job of eliminating the distracting background. I wouldn't have a clue how to go about that at this infantile stage of my Photoshop skill. Well done.

Hey Chasp!

I wanted to jump in here and give this a go but when I looked through your galleries I couldn't find anything I thought I could improve. Great shots there.

I leave it to someone other than me.

Here is one of Impalass' shots from his gallery "Ice & Snow":

And here's a "a bit more frosted" version of it:

Great photos in your gallery, I was hard put to find one, but this wound up standing out. It seems like the focus of the photo is the satellite dish, but it clashed too much with the rest for my taste...

I can't fathom why, but even though I've closed out the program and tried again, it's still just putting "creating thumbnails" If you click it should take you to the image though!
