I photographed this reddish egret one evening when, on a whim, I went out to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge with nothing greater than a Canon 80-200L f/2.8 and a Tamron 1.4X teleconverter to see how the combo would work and this is what I got:

I think it has low traffic because it isn't a ful frame bird portrait gallery, but it's designed as a way to see what the reddish egret does to fish.

I was relatively surprised to see that my Yosemite National Park gallery is among my least visited galleries. I figure it must be due to the high number of quality galleries already devoted to it. Surely it couldn't be that my pictures are cliched and boring!!

...this osprey has been fishing in the canal across the street
for about 18 months..it has raised a clutch of chicks in a nest
provided by the city...today it is in the tree where a pair of
mockingbirds have a nest...the osprey has probably eaten the chicks
but the parents keep trying to drive it off...

tho there are 18 photos, for some reason, people only actually look at several...it's a story in photos...
