Thanks and let us keep this going

I need both the formative and the sustaining feedback. Tell me what you loathe, tell me what you like. True, I shoot for myself and my own eye, but I am still very new. I can use your insight.

Thanks, and will return the favor,
Ellsworth Weaver

Good idea. I'm in Venezia (Italy) and I hate the "postcard vogue" of tourists in my city. I try to see "another Venice" less charming, more real.

Kersti,

Wonderful photos. I would suggest you look at cropping them a little differently. Left comments and a few votes. Thanks for the invitation.

This is way cool! I'm really surprised how well this works - I've received way over 100 new comments since this thread started about a week ago and I'm happy that many seemed to like some of my stuff!

so keep on rollin' and get your name posted here!

Have to agree, had maybe 5/6 comments before this thread, now it's about 70... Working well.

Hey Art,

Well, I went by your galleries and if I were an insurance agent, I would not insure you! Very very interesting life you lead. I left comments and a few well deserved votes!

One overall thing: your webaddy and name across the photo seems a bit distracting. No, I am not going to steal your work. And if I were, I could use the clone or healing brush and take that out. How about just framing the pics and putting your name down on the bottom?

I especially appreciate your jellyfish pics. I have a few but want to go back to Monterey with my better lenses now.

There are a lot of talented artists here. Very interesting stuff from all over the world. I've left a few comments. I hope to learn from all of you. Thanks.

Kind of a Belated New Year's Resolution

Post Thu Feb 17, 2005 3:31 pm

Gentlefolk,

How about we go to at least one new to us photographer each day (pick one at random, I don't care) and post to their site? Further, invite them to look at this thread and to pick a few names from here. Anyone who posts to my site, I vow to look at theirs and to post at least one more than they did.

And voting is free! Get at least one pic, or better still a gallery, you think folks ought to see and vote for it. Not a hard thing.

Thanks to those of you who have been by. Hope I have done you the same courtesy. If I am deficient, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Ellsworth Weaver

This is a really good idea. I have seen some good stuff and I have some more to go look at. Please drop by and leave some comments.

Nick, I really liked you London 4-11 shot of the ferris wheel, as well as others. Rene, your flower shots are stunning. Blu, your flowers and you Maverick galleries were great. I can't wait to check out the rest.

Regards, Sean

Great idea Guys & Gals. I'm going to spend some time browsing all your galleries, so expect some sort of comments from me. (I'm quite nice and don't like to upset people). Most of what I've seen so far has been excellent stuff. You put me to shame

I joined this web site a couple of monthes ago and have been a bit hesitant to post my thoughts and comments on others galleries. When Blu started this discussion last week I thought "why not" and posted some comments. It was great getting some feedback on my images, especially because I am so new to photography, and the best surprise was seeing two of my galleries on the popular pages. Thank you to those who thought they were good enough to vote for! I posted some more comments and hope to be to all of your galleries soon. I would appreciate any feedback you can give! I think this is a great idea and I have enjoyed all of your images so far.

Still, A Great Way to Meet Folks!

I encourage anyone who stops by to read this, to get out to any of these websites and look, say hello, vote, and make constructive criticism. Learn from the good, the bad and the ugly.

I especially invite you to look at my candid shots of people

and my shots of ladies.

My critters gallery has some nice, non-domestic animals like butterflies, pelicans, buffalo, and even a whole gallery devoted to squirrels. Only one cat photograph, promise, and no dachshunds, ever!!!

And if you are doing this, tag up here so we know to go look at yours. I am even using the Random Photo feature just to get some more experience looking and seeing.

Above all, take that camera with you everywhere, and shoot.

In service to my Muse,
Ellsworth Weaver
