I've seen this political war and frankly, it has caused my self-imposed exile from Pbase...
I believe that one important point has been missing here....Pbase is an 'international' place and noone would like to witness a fight going on between people from different countries...
Nowadays there are many conflicts going on worldwide, and citizens from those countries, are posting here their works without attacking each other..that's quite a roll model to be proud of....
So, it just didn't make sense the 'civil war' going on between people living in the same home country...
I am not trying to be judgemental, and i agree in the removal of conflicting material from Pbase...my only observation is that it took too long to realize that something was not quite right, as if no rules were being broken since day one...
That hesitation is what makes me wonder...
It's obvious that it was against rules, or common sense, the first day, as several weeks after;
1.- why let it stay going for so long ?
2.- when, and why did Mods decide it was time to call it quits ?
3.- why ALL galleries at once ?
4.- How did those galleries keep getting votes if they were so unpleasant?
5.- Is there a way to manipulate the votes in Pbase?
Next is a reflexion with no foul intention to Don or anyone else for that matter - I haven't had any problem with Don in the past, and he knows how i respect him and his work..- an obligated disclaimer-
i ve had the opportunity of being a witness when in the past Don has been involved in his share of disagreements with some members of this fine community, and at those times threads had to be closed and many members were against Pbase policy of giving Don the freedom of speech...i thought this was the way Pbase was doing its part for enforcing freedom of speech...i thought it was a standard policy not to ban anyone just for expresing his/her ideas....
So it really surprised me when i heard about this new twist in Pbase's policy, as this time the rants hadn't gotten even to 10% of those held in the past....
What happened ?
Maybe this time Don stepped too close, or on some big shot's toes and all prior notions were put aside and the "fast Track" approach took over this time...
Not taking sides here as i haven't done it in the past either ..just doing an honest and fair balance of actions..
... Nevertheless, there is always the possibilty that i could be wrong in my assumptions, therefore i remain open minded and receptive, in case there some info i could've overlooked ..
Thanks for your attention...
Kind Regards to All....
