3rd place - Jill:
Looks like a studio shot but tears seem real. Wonder what she is sad (or happy as the case may be) about

2nd place - John:
Great shot and one unhappy child (bet it didn't last long though) :)

1st place - Jean:
Simply a classic

Congratulations Jean. You are know the organizer for the next challenge.

Cheers,

Marcel

congrats to the three winners and all of the people who entered the contest.

i'm probably going to be called a cry baby, but i've noticed that the last few contest winners did not stick to the specified rules, specifically the size (medium.jpg) and embedded link rules. so could we either get rid of those rules or from now on make sure they are followed?

I have also noticed that. A lot of my images dont look good at the medium setting but I still put them up like that because of the rules.

Congrats to all; great images!

The rule is there for people on slow internet connect and to keep the contest page count low.

It’s been up to the host to enforce the rules and only a few have enforced the size rule… maybe it is my fault because I didn’t even enforce it on 1st contest. Sorry to everyone that has followed this rule.

That said, hosting without looking at the full size image is a pain because medium sized images don’t always look as nice/sharp as they should. Even with a link to the full size image it’s hard because you have to click on every image. Plus no one likes posting their images if they are not going to look as good as they should.

I have started a new thread with the poll at http://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?t=22251. Maybe we can convince the next host to remove it or enforced it with this poll.

It looks like those who didn't follow the rule need to have their images
excluded and the vote be done again. Otherwise, what's the point of
having rules if there's no consequence for not following them ?

When I hosted contest #11 (wood), I did not consider any of the pictures that were posted in large format. Otherwise, the contest is simply not fair.

I think that the rule should be kept, but that each image should have a link to the full-sized image posted below it. That way the judge can do a preselection based on medium and then to and look at the finalists in full format.

Well said and good for you for keeping with the rules. Now only if everyone will...

Thanks! As far as the rules I'm ok either way.
