Festival time in Dubai

A month of festivities in Dubai has just begun, the Dubai Shopping Festival. The centerpiece of the festival is the Global Village, a World's Fair style event with pavilions from over 30 countries. Inside each pavilion, stands sell products from that country. Entertainers typical of each country perform, usually in the form of musicians and dancers. Elsewhere in the city, other events, both cultural and retail take place. The Dubai Heritage Village comes to life with an encampment of tents from throughout the Arab world.
