Shoot at the fastest aperture that you can get (3.8?
instead of 5.6).
This will decrease the depth of field, but basketball
doesn't move that fast so you should be able to
get things in focus. Are you using a monopod?
That might make it more likely that your pictures
will turn out a bit sharper. Get in closer to the
subject, most of these pictures include too much
extra information. We're interested in the player,
not the gym (unless it's an environment shot...).
Get the ball in mid-air or the players when their feet
are off the ground... basketball is an athletic game,
so find those shots that demontrate that charateristic.
uh, maybe get a better lens? try renting something
good like an L series just to see the difference...
