46th Show and Tell Competition: Night Life

First I have to admitt that I'm really proud to be the host of this week's competition...
And I'd like to apologize for any language mistakes that you will find in this post. English is not my first language...


Theme for 46th Show and Tell Competition is: Night Life

Anything that shows how people (animals?) live through the night (work, travel, having fun, trying to survive)... Anything but sleep

The competition will be open from now on through Thursday, May 10th.

When posting, please also include a link to your photo so it can be viewed at original size. Also, don't forget to read the posting rules at the bottom!!!
And please pay special attention to Rule No 8!

How it Works:
1. The host gives a topic.
2. You post up to 3 of your images that go along with the topic.
3. The host chooses the winner 7 days after the contest was started.
4. The winner becomes the host for the next week. If the winner does not post a new contest within 2 days, the 2nd place winner is the new host.

The Rules:
1. Photos must be hosted on pbase.com.
2. Photos must be embedded in your post. See

3. Post only the medium versions of your picture. Larger versions will not be considered.
4. Only enter 3 photos per-contest.
5. The host is not eligible for their own contest.
6. Any picture you've taken is eligible regardless of time taken and camera

I'm sure that many people have thought this before and it's how many other forum comps and club comps are run. I'd like to know what others think.

Would it not improve the competition if people were encouraged even required to take a photo for the actual competition rather then finding something for it in archives?. This would not only aid creativity in my view, it may well encourage others to pick up a camera and get out there.

I just think it's better to create something for a theme then it is to find something for it.

With their shaving kits in hand, Marine Corps infantry recruits walk toward the lights of an instructor's vehicle and a portable water source an hour before sunrise at a training range on Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Although the Marines sleep on the ground when training in the field, often covered in dust and drenched in sweat at the end of each day, they are strictly required to maintain their daily personal hygiene and clean shaven traditions.
