Post Sat Jul 21, 2007 11:39 pm

Hello everyone!
Here are the rewarded for Show and Tell Contest nr 53, Suburbia

Third place, Stu Egan - Love the geometrical background, I think it is an interesting image. Great composition.

Second place, Pasvorn Boonmark - All about communaction in this shot, bus, car, walkie-talkie,.. and Ericsson :-) communication between city and suburb takes it's enviromental "pice".

First Place - Winner, Todd Port.
This might not be the "ordinary view" at a suburb but it is an excellent well seen shot. Makes me wonder about how long the world will poduce more and more new cars and more and more peeople are forced to live far from work.. Suburb for me is a place to live and sleep for many. A place you have to commute to...
A very graphic shot also. Congratulations!

Congrats to Todd (worthy winner) an the runners up (great photos)!

Not sure bout some a the takes on "Suburbia" tho!
(a lot a shots looked more "Downtown" or "Commuter Lane" to me)
Thats not to say they weren't good photos!

Mike :)

Congrats to the final three, i thought you'd be in the top three Stu;)

I've got to agree with Mike and say i wasn't really getting a sense of suburban life in many of the images
What uses having a great depth of field, if there is not an adequate depth of feeling? -

I especially liked the images of repeating lines and imitation that seem
to spell Suburbia as opposed to rural, the new places built right outside the edges of the city.

That image really jumped out at me too! Auto fleet or 'model' housing,
the focus on conformity and sameness can be a sort of scary image !
