The gallery where the picture below resides, is about the vanishing village of Doel.
Of all the pictures in that gallery, this picture fits the theme of the contest the most in my feeling.

The second image is one I took in Burma 2 years ago.

Both images are clickable.

Kind regards,

Stockholm, Sweden: Gamla Stan at Night

Post Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:06 pm

This image was made at about 11:30 at night in Stockholm's Gamla Stan (Old Town) area. It was late May 2006.

At this time of year, the sky never gets completely dark, and you may have to drink a beer or two while waiting for it to get dark enough. We suffer for our craft.

Paris, France: View from Atop the Arc de Triomphe

Post Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:09 pm

Paris, November 2003. Standing at the top of the Arc de Triomphe, looking down the Champs Elysees.

They didn't allow anyone to use tripods up there, so this is hand-held.

Houston, Texas: Holding Tank for Something Toxic

Post Mon Sep 24, 2007 9:13 pm

There are lots of toxic places around the Houston Ship Channel. And lots of security personnel to make sure you don't see too much.
